Special Topics: Current Advocacy Efforts and Changes to the Psychology Profession
Join OCPA for a very special event being hosted by Carla DeFraine, PhD, OCPA’s leader in advocacy for psychology. Find out what bills our affecting our profession and what OCPA is doing for advocacy in psychology!
Carla will be leading the discussion on the work being done on behalf of psychology at the State Capitol, and covering the way in which bills are reviewed--and support, oppose, neutral, or watch positions are adopted by CPA, as will some of the current bills affecting the practice of psychology in California.
We will be discussing what went on during Advocacy a Day this year, as well as the practice of psychology in the context of the current health care environment, with a special emphasis on psychology in California, as well and how what we do influences national policy.
She and the board hopes to clarify the reasons advocacy matters, and what is at stake for our profession!
Special Bonus!! Heavy appetizers and dessert will be provided, as well as beer, wine, and soft drinks!
