W. Joshua Johnson, PhD, ABPP

 

Dr. W. Joshua Johnson is board certified in clinical neuropsychology. He completed a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and specialized in Neuropsychology. He completed pre-doctoral training rotations at UCSF Alzheimer's and Memory Center in Fresno, Children's Hospital Central California, and at Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital in the Chicago area. He also completed internship at Hines VA. After earning his degree, he completed a two-year formal Fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology at the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, Arizona.


At Barrow, he specialized in neurorehabilitation, neurodiagnostics, and movement disorders. He trained within the Muhammad Ali Parkinson's Center, where he regularly conducted pre-DBS neuropsychological evaluations.. He also trained within the Center for Transitional Neurorehabilitation, the inpatient neurorehabilitation unit, and the outpatient general neuropsychology clinics.

 

He has since worked in concussion clinics, acute rehabilitation hospitals, and private practice. He earned a diplomate in Clinical Neuropsychology from the American Board of Professional Psychology in 2015. He currently works both in private practice and at the Tibor Rubin VA Medical Center in Long Beach, California. He is the neuropsychological consultant to the Anaheim Ducks for the NHL Concussion Program.
