Category: Continuing Education

Refresh your knowledge of suicide prevention! Recent case law and current research has redefined the psychologist's responsibility and standard of care in assessment, intervention, and mandatory reporting.

Two workshops are required to complete the mandatory requirement for licensed psychologists. Our suicide prevention CE addresses the following in two 3-hour virtual Zoom workshops:

  • Assessment of suicide risk, including risk factors and protective factors
  • Current standards of care, current research, and case law
  • Appropriate interventions, when and how to hospitalize
  • Reporting requirements
  • Crafting of safety plans that protect patients and meet documentation standards
  • Gender variations and cultural variations of risk and resiliency

This workshop will discuss demographics, intervention strategies, and useful or weak techniques used by clinicians, and provides 3 credits. The second workshop will discuss effective, efficient, and safe clinician techniques to be used with suicidal patients, and also provides 3 credits.
