This one time parenting workshop will:

    -  Provide a refresher on PCIT (Parenting Skills) having completed prior parent training programs

This is a parenting skills based workshop in order to help parents and other caregivers:

·       Learn better ways to communicate and empathize with their child

·       Help their child develop coping strategies and self-responsibility

·       Increase their child’s self-worth and confidence

·       Learn appropriate limit setting

·       Develop the skills necessary to respond to instead of react to their child’s feelings

·        Teach their child decision-making and self-control

·       Reduce power struggles and preserve the child-parent relationship

PEERS® (Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills) is an evidence-based social skills intervention developed by UCLA for motivated teens in middle and high school. This program is considered the gold standard for helping teens who are interested in learning how to make and keep friends. During each group session, teens are taught important social skills and are given the opportunity to practice these skills in session during socialization activities. Parents attend separate sessions at the same time and are taught how to help their teen implement and practice their new skills. Enrollment is limited.



Fee: $50-$90/session, depending on payment plan

This group follows a Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) model, which research has shown to be highly effective in reducing symptoms of anxiety. CBT for social anxiety is a specialized treatment designed to help participants learn to conquer their fears in social situations. This group offers a step-by-step process to help you identify your worries, build social skills, create a plan for change, and take action toward achieving your goals.

This group is for men who would like to explore the challenges of manhood and masculinity in contemporary culture.  Issues pertaining to career, relationships, fatherhood, health/stress management, divorce, addiction, and significant life transitions (having a child; beginning a new job/career; financial challenges; etc.) are addressed in a supportive environment with the aim of cultivating self-knowledge, sound decision-making, emotionally stability, and interpersonal growth.

This group is for men and women who would like to explore their relational lives.  The challenges, ambivalences, and emotional turbulence encountered in the quest for establishing and maintaining intimate relationships are the group’s central focus.  This group is appropriate for singles, divorced persons, married persons, and those who are involved in a significant relationship.

This group is for men and women who struggle with issues related to compulsivity in, and addiction to, love and romantic relationships.  Patterns of co-dependence, compensating for low self-esteem, family of origin issues (including growing up in distressed family systems), and the multiple uses of sexuality are explored in a supportive environment.  Poor choices of partners are approached from the perspective of emotional recovery and the processing of self-sabotaging defensive functions laid down in one’s personality early in life.  Attention is also paid to learning from past failed relationships in order to inform more efficient ways to recognize and develop new, more viable and fulfilling relationships.

Join us in exploring new strategies for coping with life's challenges.  DBT 6 week workshop presented by trained counselors and directed by Dr. Larry Kuhn, Licensed Psychologist.


Prepare to Change counselors are trained facilitators of the Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Program, which provides tools to overcome obstacles and realize goals and potentials.  DBT is a powerful alternative to individual counseling.


Individuals can postpone or minimize their current therapy while attending DBT Classes.

Sage Family Consulting again has space for referrals.  We provide confidential in-home individual, couple, and family therapy.  We help with family changes (marriage, divorce, re-marriage), communication, ADHD, and parent empowerment.  We specialize in families with legal issues (investigation, trial, incarceration) learn to understand, navigate and grow within these unique circumstances.
