Decoding Madness: Forensic Psychological Practice, presented by Dr. Richard Lettieri, California licensed psychologist

Dr. Lettieri will explore the complexity of forensic evaluation and will discuss the sometimes fine line between mental illness and criminal conduct. Learning objectives are:

  • Identify three common types of psychopathology found in criminal defendants
  • Write 3 key differences between conducting clinical and forensic evaluations
  • Identify at least 3 specialized forensic testing instruments
  • Recite case law and criminal statues when completing forensic psychological assessments
  • Compile the differences between competency to stand trial and insanity evaluations
  • Analyze the meaning of mental state defense evaluations and what makes them so difficult to complete
  • Identify 3 professional stressors unique to a forensic psychological practice

Saturday, June 4, 2022 virtually from 10am to 12pm on Zoom.

CPA is co-sponsoring with Orange County Psychological Association. The California Psychological Association is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. CPA maintains responsibility for this program and its contents.

Important Notice: Those who attend the workshop and complete the CPA evaluation form will receive 2 continuing education credits. Please note that APA CE rules require that we give credit only to those who attend the entire workshop. Those arriving more than 15 minutes after the start time or leaving before the workshop is completed will not receive CE credits.
